Many of us remember a svelte Lainie Kazan from her numerous tv and film appearances in the 1960's and '70's.

But in the early 1980's Lainie dropped out of the public eye. A year later she returned as the big, beautiful Lainie Kazan we know today.

Lainie: The fact is that for most of my life I had been a fat person trapped in the body of a thin one. I had to use dangerous drugs to keep my weight down and they almost killed me.

So for Lainie Kazan the choice was simple. She had to get fat...OR DIE!

Lainie: You have to understand this was not an easy decision for me. As intolerant as society is today toward fat people, it was worse back then. Especially if you were an entertainer. But with the help of my wonderful family and a few close friends I was able to overcome my fear of fat. If I hadn't been able to achieve self acceptance and now true self love I would not be here to tell you my story.

Lainie has not only grown over the years, but she has passed on her fat genes to the next generation.

Lainie: My daughter who lives with me is also fat. I thank God every day that I was able to spare her the pain and physical torture of fighting the inevitable. From the very beginning I taught her to accept and love herself the was she is, a beautiful fat woman!

But the joy doesn't stop here. Lainie's daughter is about to give birth to her first child. Will the child grow into a fabulous fat person?

Lainie: Look at us! (she points to herself and her daughter) I'd say the odds are pretty good!
